Article summary

Fibromyalgia is a common condition among the European population that is characterized by tenderness to pressure, aetiology and widespread paid. The condition is believed to be complex in nature because it is associated with abnormalities with the central sensory interact and associated with complex hyperalgesic pain. Patients suffering from fibromyalgia report tenderness and pain from the trapezius muscle which comes from different points of the muscle (Stefan, 37). Moreover, the muscle located in the fibromyalgia has revealed disturbances of the mitochondrial in muscle fibers type-1. The increased muscular tension and inability to relax the muscle has brought to attention the relationship between chronic pain and neuromuscular control processes. Health care professionals proposes that the neuromuscular control processes have the potential to prevent and control major muscular activities which causes fatigue, pain and associated disturbances  with the muscles. Active single motor units is among the substitution and rotational for controlling neuromuscular pain condition. Reciprocal reversal of activity is believed to be another neuromuscular control processes with differentiated activation. The aim of the study is to establish the different neuromuscular control mechanisms.

The implication the article has for the health care professionals

The neuromuscular control by patients suffering from musculoskeletal pain has been a topic of interest over the last decades. Clinical observation from patients suffering from myalgia condition is associated with tender muscles and this has disclosed that hyperactivity and circle of pain exists in term of chronic pain. The health control conditions are believed to have the potential to influence redundancy of the motor unit. The differential activation of the muscles depend on whether the muscles have been stressed using a load are free (Stefan, 44). Shifting the activities of the motor units of the complex muscles through consistence contractions are believed to prevent muscle overexertion and fatigue altogether. The ability of a person to alternate activities between regions within the upper part of the trapezius may act as a preventive strategy for preventing and avoiding reflexive muscle hyperactivity associated with acute chronic pain. Moreover, decreased differential activation of the fibromyalgia can be associated with chronic pain such as the central sensitization processes and the neuro-matrix pain in an individual brain.

Fibromyalgia is a complex health condition which has been difficult to cure and manage for both the patients and health care professionals because the etiology of the condition is unknown, no standardized treatment for it and there are no specific symptoms associated with the condition. Nevertheless, the health care professionals have been necessitated to come up with different mechanisms for controlling, avoiding and preventing the condition among the patients. Heath care provider- patient relationship, therapeutically management and diagnostic mechanism are some of the suggested strategies the health care professions might use to identify whether the patient is suffering from the Fibromyalgia condition or other related condition. Fibromyalgia condition is complex and hectic to the health care professionals because different patients have varying condition hence making treatment and diagnosis difficult (Stefan, 62). The complex nature of the health condition among different patients has had a great impact among the health care professional because they are required to conduct rigorous research depending on the situation and condition of each patient. The condition has necessitated the health care professionals to have more knowledge and skills in prescription of drugs and treatment of the patients because they patients might experience varying improvement depending on the prescription and the condition of the Fibromyalgia.

Mitochondria -structures within the cell that covert energy from food into a status the cell can use

Neuromuscular – associated with the muscles and the nerves

Myalgia           – pain in the group of muscles

Hyperactivity  – excess activities resulting to pain in the body
