The resource theory

The theory promotes the role of the student affairs professional by making sure that the campus gets the fact of improving the resources to enhance the students learning to take place (Kretovics, 2009). Therefore, the professional will rely on the theory to make sure that all the necessary resources are available for students learning. For example one day one of the employed student affairs professional at the when I was still doing my program in student affairs campus come up with a strategy of building a library with modern style sound proof systems that would make sure that students accommodate all the students and also ensures there is adequate room for concentration. In his proposal to the school administration, he mentioned the resource theory to support the idea. The department bought the idea and made sure that the projects commenced if it will impact the student’s success in the school. Most of the learning facilities and adequate staff for the students have been raised through resource theory of development (Schuh, Jones & Torres, 2016).

Bolman and Dearl’s Framework

The Bolman and Dearl’s frame work for leadership include structural, human resource, political and symbolic (Bolman & Deal, 2017). However, the most frequently used in the institution is the political frame work. In the political framework is a leadership style that enhances coalition building in the organization. They make clear what they want and what they are capable of getting, seek the distribution of power and interests of the all the people in the organization. Moreover, they use persuasion first and then use negotiation and coercion in the situation that is necessary. In style, everyone in the institution can participate in the decision making and can be allowed to take part in the negotiation process. In the education set up the interests of the students and other staff members are heard for the development of real and practical learning environment.

As a student profession, I believe that the frame is necessary and essential in the case where good campus governance is needed.  Perhaps other frames may not have allowed for negotiation to take place in case it is needed. In this kind of leadership, the roles of the student in the school could not be undermined, and therefore the voice of everyone is necessary. For example, if the student needs an addition of staff to improve learning as a result of the shortage of the teaching staff. The matter will be negotiated, and students can be allowed to come up with raising their grievances about the matter. Therefore, the case is very much important in the management of students teaching (Wells, 2015).
